Ona Move - we welcome home Janet Africa & Janine Africa, after 41 years, and wont rest until all our political prisoners are free at last!
with
. sheros Janet Africa & Janine Africa, finally returned to the beloved community, after 41 years of incarceration, for a death that actually resulted from a police campaign of terror used against Black community organizations
. Carlos Africa, Move organizer
. Pam Africa, Move organizer and commentary by Mumia Abu-Jamal, a political prisoner who remains imprisoned for life without parole and continues his work as a journalist from his jail cell in Pennsylvania. Prior to his wrongful conviction in 1981 Jamal was a political activist and President of the Philadelphia Association of Black Journalists.

Though many of us can name Mumia as our hero, there are far too many of us who have no idea who he is and what he has contributed to human history. It is a product of the states attempted eradication of all liberation movements fighting against U.S. imperialism, particularly those led by people of color, and assuredly those movements within its own borders. Such is the case with Mumia and his comrade members of the Move organization.

Janet and Janine Africa were falsely accused in the death of PO James Ramp along with 7 other of their organizations members. The MOVE 9 were innocent men and women who were imprisoned in August 1978, following a massive police attack on their communal home in the Powelton Village neighborhood of Philadelphia. This was 7 years before the government, continuing campaign of terror against the group dropped an incendiary bomb on MOVE, killing 11 people, including 5 babies.

It has been 41 years of unjust of imprisonment for Janet Africa & Janine Africa, but despite the hardship of being separated from family members, despite the grief over the murder of family members they remained strong, with an uncompromising commitment to their beliefs, despite all that this government has done to break them and ultimately try to eliminate the MOVE Organization. Now, Janet Africa and Janine Africa finally released from prison, due to the efforts of pressure groups across the globe are back in the beloved community. And, they recount how these mostly Black, freedom and nature loving activists of MOVE, who lived in Philadelphia in the early 1970s to early 80s"until the Philadelphia police department dropped an incendiary bomb on their house from a helicopter on May 13, 1985, killing 11 members of the organization, including 5 children and silencing their central figure, John Africa and burning down more than 60 other houses. Theyll remind us how the MOVE family members, clawed their way out of the inferno, only to be beaten back by police gunfire. The Philadelphia Police and Fire departments let the blaze continue for hours as the 11 people all perished.

They will talk about how they survived 41 years behind the walls and continuing to mobilize the massive amount of public pressure to force this government to release the remainder of the MOVE 9 and Mumia Abu-Jamal and to free all political prisoners "What can YOU do to add to the pressure?
