We begin this week with the voice of Noura Erakat, a frequent guest on This Week In Palestine. She is a Palestinian attorney and professor at Rutgers University, and the cousin of Ahmed Erakat. Ahmed, 27, was recently gunned down and left unattended to bleed to death at a checkpoint on the West Bank, on his way to pick up his sister on her wedding day. He himself was to be married in the very near future. That checkpoint, like many others, cannot even remotely be claimed to protect Israelis from Palestinians. Its entire purpose is to make life more difficult for Palestinians traveling within non-Israeli Palestine. We present this story's recent coverage on Amy Goodman's Democracy Now.

We then return to the ongoing story of the attempts by the Zionist Lobby to silence voices critical of Israel on US Campuses across this country. It doesn’t end. And our coverage of this struggle will not end as long as it continues. Today we feature Prof Hatem Bazian of the University of California in Berkeley, along with two members of Students for Justice in Palestine at Tufts University discussing this assault on free speech with Dale Sprusansky, editor of the Washington Report on Middle East Affairs.
Begun in 2004, This Week In Palestine (a weekly 8am feature of Truth and Justice Radio (TJR) is an award-winning 45-minute (or more) segment of news from Palestine and discussion of issues relevant to the Palestinians' struggle for freedom from Israel's brutal military occupation and colonization of their homeland. It speaks from the point of view of Palestinians and those who care about them. TJR has been aired Sundays 6-10am ET on WZBC 90.3FM, Newton, MA, also streamed live and archived for two weeks at wzbc.org; TJR's modest website, truthandjusticeradio.org, has a link to This Week In Palestine's permanent archives back thru 1-6-2008. TJR sometimes airs Palestine coverage IN ADDITION to that provided by This Week In Palestine. We hope you'll write to us at tjradio@fastmail.com if you rebroadcast our work, or have questions or comments.
