Back in the USSR commemorates the 98th anniversary of the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917 by celebrating the victories and successes of socialist societies in the 20th Century and beyond. The achievements of socialism with regard to economic development, education, healthcare, human services, gender and national equality, technological and scientific achievement and other progressive indicators become all the more impressive when one realizes that all these gains were made in the face of constant aggression and hostile action from the world's capitalist powers. And yet, the USSR, Cuba, China, Korea, Vietnam, Angola, Mozambique, Grenada, and other socialist societies managed to do what had previously be thought unthinkable: they managed to build a society without exploitation.
