If we think we got our independence on that July day back in 1776, or at the Paris Peace Treaty seven years later, think again.

We have been propagandized into believing weâre just too smart to be propagandized, but our ancestorsâespecially those who fought in the Revolutionâtook it in the shorts right from the beginning from a group of elitesâbankers, lawyers, land barons and slaversâcalled The Founders, who were not elected to go to Philadelphia where they were to tweak the Articles of Confederation.
Regardless whether the Articles wouldâve been viable or not in the future, they were surreptitiously dumped in favor of the Constitution that corralled the 13 states under a central government to facilitate Englandâs continued extraction of our revenues. A central government, then later a central bank were exactly what the true patriots didnât want, wishing not to repeat the same political/financial conditions they or their ancestors had in England.
The Constitution was also anything but original: âThe American Constitution of 1787 was a faithful copy, so far as it was possible to make one out of the materials at hand, of the contemporary Constitution of England. . . . Allowing for the more democratic character of the constituencies, the organization of the supreme power in the United States is nearer the English type of the last century [and] is less modern in fact than is the English Constitution of the present dayâ âEncyclopedia Britannica, 9th ed. VI, 310 (1889).
And the Constitutionâs ratification was also a messy affairâdone under threat of military intervention in some states, a fact left out history books.
So the elites lied. The peasants got betrayed. And even though weâve had it better than most of the world, that situation is changing rapidly under the encroachment of the supposed security state meant to keep us safe from exactly whom or what? You think you have rights? Not according to the Constitution. âWe the Little Peopleâ are granted privileges that can be withdrawn at the whim of the government. So everybody yaps about our rights, but we don't get them.
