Cultural programing followed the press conference demanding that the City of Chicago shut down Homan Square, the Chicago Police Department warehouse used to detain people without registering them in the system, during which time police have been criminally abusing them, so far with impunity, to extract information and confessions. It is an ongoing scandal from the Emanuel administration that continues under the current Mayor.

Melissa Hernandez speaks of her project to keep drug users safe; Maira Khwaja, of the Chicago Police Data Base, of Charles Green and how easy access to police misconduct data enables the community to remove dangerous cops from their communities or clear one's name from a racist conviction that brands one a felon. Last is Madeline Green who speaks of teaching in the dis-invested communities of Gary Indiana and Chicago where by systemic design children whose life chances are undermined by those conditions are tracked toward failure and prison life futures.

The Black Abolitionist Network demands Homan Square be shut down, police impunity for their crimes be ended and money be transferred from the CPD budget and infused into the community to meet the needs that community representatives have long identified would address the existing conditions that promote poor health, poor educational achievement, and deny them healthy and secure lives.
