Today’s episode is a recording of a conversation exploring the role of the Canadian Mining companies heavy investment in mineral extraction from the continent of Africa. The role of these companies and of the Canadian government is quite abysmal in terms of their abuse of human rights and the ecological damage done to the environment. We will host conversations about the operations at hand, how they got to the extent of the current enterprise, and about ways we could conceivably reverse course. Speakers in this episode include Jamie Kneen of MiningWatch Canada, Phyllia Ngoatje of Mining Affected Communities United in Action (MACUA) and Yves Engler, a researcher and author .
