The farmers are getting restless! We discuss the latest issues for farmers with Barbara Ebell from Nanoose Edibles Organic Farm
Produced by James Booker and Julie Chadwick
As a parting gift, the Coalition Provisional Authority, much to the world's shock and disgust, left the Iraqis a lasting legacy: restrictions on saving the seeds as they had done for tens of thousands of years.

Now, Canada is looking at similar legislation that will restrict the rights of farmers, further push GM crops, make them buy 'certified seed' from corporations, and force us to accept the Terminator Seed technology.

Did you know Vancouver Island used to be 80% self sufficient in food production in the 1950's?

That land is still here, and we learn from Barbara Ebell why now is a crucial time for us to decide whether we want "to use it, or do we want to pave it?"

All is not lost - we also get some tips on what easy actions can be taken immediately to seize control over our own food production even as it appears to be slipping away.
