Canadian media repeats Washington's claim that the US is "retaliating" against attacks on their troops when those troops are stationed in Syria and Iraq, where both countries have told them to leave. By this crazy logic only the US is sovereign and no one else has sovereignty.
They threaten to punish journalists for speaking to the wrong foreigners, namely Putin. And it isn't new, since the founding of the US the Logan Act (criminalizing citizen diplomacy) has been used to intimidate skeptics of US foreign policy.
