This is an interview on the imposed state of emergency in France since last week in response to the growing uprising of youth who have been the brunt of French state policies, and instiutional racism. This report looks at the root causes of the uprising which engulfed 298 towns, for over 20 nights straight across France. This is an interview with Naima Bouteldja, a freelance journalist and activist in Britain from France. She has recently written on the uprising in an article "the explosion in the suburbs", for the Guardian newspaper. This interview was done for CKLN 88.1 FM in Toronto
