After a week of grounded flights in Europe, airlines want taxpayers to funnel them more money. Why should you and I subsidize airline stockholders and highly paid executives, as well as people rich enough to afford to fly frequently?
Also, the drop in demand for jet fuel in Europe was credited with putting downward pressures on world oil prices. That shows how small differences in supply and demand can have big effects on prices.
