A large book by John Taylor Gatto, 9 years in the writing, telling the previously untold story of schooling as not an altruistic enterprise of enlightened men to benefit their fellow man, but an effort by rich industrialists and eugenicists to preserve the hierarchical systems on which they were dependent. Mass compusion schooling, as Gatto documents in this painstakingly researched volume were intended from the outset as tools to "dumb down" their victims first for the purpose of making them willing conscripts in armies, later to a life of gloomy servitude in factories. In spite of selling over 500,000 copies based only on word of mouth recommendation (no advertising), its theme is so confronting that it has been largely ignored by commercial media.
Most of the book was broadcast in episodes 315-372 of Unwelcome Guests. The remaining sections were read by Robin Upton.
A SINGLE ZIP FILE (666MB) OF THE ENTIRE BOOK IS AVAILABLE FROM http://www.unwelcomeguests.net/archive/Audiobooks
