Doc Watson (March 3, 1923 - May 29, 2012) in 1939.
We had decided to honor Doc, as he was doing poorly and in the hospital; we just heard that he has passed on, his family by his side.
It's hard to overestimate the impact that Doc had on bluegrass, old time, blues, and spiritual music in America and beyond.
Today we truly lost an American icon and legend.
